Chima Omike

Partnerships and business development · Technical product and program management · Electronics · Houston

I help companies build, launch and grow what they sell, from the circuit board to the partner deal.

I started as an electronic engineer on solar systems, steel plants and wind farms. I went on to build ventures in Nigeria, run global partnerships at IBM worth more than $60 million, and found Synch Company, where I’ve built 14 products from utilities to healthcare.

Most of that work happened outside pure software: in steel plants, wind farms, utilities, automotive supply chains, investment firms, farms and clinics.

I bring technical depth most partnerships people don’t, and commercial instinct most engineers don’t.

The assembly line: how this profile was built

Every stage of my career added new parts to the build. The line runs on its own; select any station to stop and look closer.

How I helpProblems I’m usually brought in to solve

Partnerships

Your partner program isn’t producing revenue.

I build partnerships that close deals, not logo slides. At IBM that meant $60M+ in partner-driven revenue and a dormant 20-year alliance turned back into $5M+.

Technical selling

Your product is complex and your buyer isn’t technical.

I turn architecture into business cases that IT and operations leaders approve, backed by three engineering degrees and three patent disclosures.

Commercial terms

Your contracts are leaking margin.

I negotiate pricing and terms with legal, procurement and security in the room. Reworking 50+ OEM agreements at IBM saved $10M.

Go-to-market

You need to launch from zero.

I’ve built 14 products and launched them myself, and opened markets across EMEA and Asia-Pacific at IBM.

Product and program management

Your roadmap needs someone who speaks both engineering and business.

I’ve taken 14 products from concept to launch, led product development and go-to-market for IBM Maximo, TRIRIGA, Envizi and security products, and run cross-functional programs with legal, procurement and security. PMI-ACP and IBM AI Product Manager certified.

Electronics and hardware

Your hardware product needs an engineer who also understands the market.

An MSc in advanced electronic systems and hands-on work in power electronics, embedded systems, FPGA and Verilog, from automotive electronics at Merit Malta, an OEM, to solar and wind systems. Three patent disclosures in building energy and renewable energy hardware and software, plus an NVIDIA AI Infrastructure certification.

Beyond softwareThe same work, in any industry

Partnerships, product launches and programs follow the same logic whether you sell software, a variable frequency drive or a farm loan: find the right partners, prove the value to a buyer, negotiate the terms and deliver. Here’s how my experience carries into industries outside tech.

Energy, utilities, oil and gas

Commercial growth for physical infrastructure

Hands-on solar, wind and power electronics engineering, an MSc in renewable energy, and IBM partnerships selling into utilities and oil and gas. I can talk to plant engineers and procurement teams in their language.

Manufacturing, industrial, automotive

OEM, channel and supplier partnerships

Electronic engineering at an automotive accessories OEM, electrical work at Delta Steel, heavy equipment leasing, and 50+ OEM agreements renegotiated at IBM for $10M in savings.

Healthcare and life sciences

Programs that reach patients and providers

Healthcare rollouts at Ennovate Lab, advisory work for healthcare founders, and products like Olta Health and TeleRadiation, a directory serving medical physics and radiation safety providers.

Agriculture and food

Marketplaces across complex supply chains

Built AfroAG, a farmland, equipment and expert marketplace across eight African countries, and CleanFruits, a produce safety score built on USDA data.

Financial services and investment

Strategy grounded in the numbers

Growth strategy for impact investors with $80B+ in AUM, work with VC and PE firms holding $10B, a multi-billion-dollar acquisition business case, and fintech products like SquadFin and Sawa.

Public sector and development

Partnerships between institutions and communities

Clean energy policy at the European Commission, programs backed by the United Nations Technology Innovation Labs and Tufts, and an ecosystem that has reached 3M+ people and created 2,500+ jobs.

Bringing a 20-year partnership back to life

    $5M+ in new revenue

    Situation
A long-standing technology alliance had gone quiet, with old terms and no shared plan.
    What I did
Renegotiated the strategic agreement and rebuilt the joint go-to-market around energy and utilities, manufacturing, telecom, automotive, real estate, oil and gas, and government.
    Result
More than $5M in new revenue from a partnership most people had written off.

    IBM · OEM portfolio · 2021–2024

Cutting waste out of 50 OEM agreements

    $10M saved

    Situation
Partner evaluations were slow, and many OEM agreements no longer reflected their value.
    What I did
Redesigned the partner evaluation process and worked through each agreement with legal, procurement, corporate security and royalty management.
    Result
$10M in savings and a faster, repeatable way to decide which partners to back.

    IBM · Corporate development

Building the case for a multi-billion-dollar acquisition

    Executive approval

    Situation
Leadership needed a clear view of acquisition targets in AI and sustainability.

    What I did
Tested mobile and desktop software for Utest, now Applause, from Nigeria and France, and earned the ISTQB Certified Tester qualification.
    Result
A habit I still bring to every product and program: define what “working” means, test against it, and catch problems before a customer or partner does.
